Question

Switching plans

I currently have the '$59 Canada-Wide ‘SIM-Only’ Plan with 2GB Data' that was promoted in February 2015. I'm looking to switch to $60 plan with 4GB (2GB + 2 GB) Data. Why do I have to pay a $100.00 tab to switch? I signed up with Koodo with no tab/contract.

Does this plan cost $67.20/mo after taxes (I live in British Columbia)? Also, how long will it take for the changes to take place? If immediate, will my billing cycle change?

You only have to pay any tab if you want to get a phone on tab. No its 60 so it is 60 plus any tab you choose plus tax. Immediate but your cycle will not change. Yoh will be pro-rated.

If its asking you to pay $100 than you most likely do have a tab. You can check to see if your tab balance is $0 or not via self serve. The price with tax indeed should be $67.20. In my experience the change happened almost immediately but I believe Koodo says it could take up to 15min. You can login to selfserve at any time to see if/when the plan has changed. Your billing cycle wont change but you will recueve proration charges. (15 days into billing cycle with 1000min means you only get 500min for those 15 days, same goes with the new plan.)

Self Serve says I have a $100 tab. I have not bought any phone through Koodo.

Is it $100 or -$100? A +$100 means you have a credit of $100 which can be used towards the purchase of a new phone.

Did not realize that my tab could have a positive balance. I should be good then?

Yes! You have a $100 credit that you can use towards the purchase of a new phone whenever you want. You will be all good to change plans.

he posted that his plan is called "$59 Canada-Wide ‘SIM-Only’..." so he can't have a Tab.  He should just be able to switch to the $60 2+2 plan w/o the Tab Charge
