switch number over with existing phone, then add Tab?

Hello. I am existing telus customer wanting to switch to Koodo and keep my number. My device is paid for but I would like to get a new one on Tab. Best to do this all at once or should I make the switch, then get new phone?

Get the new phone as you sign up. 

If you don't get the phone when you sign up there is a waiting period(90 days as of right now) to get a new phone online.

The easiest and most convenient way is to sign up with Koodo first with a phone on tab. Once you receive the phone + SIM card, your account should be ready and then you can port your Telus number in.

When you say your phone is paid for, I assume you bought it with Telus - so you’ll get one final bill from Telus and from then on you deal with Koodo. They act like seperate companies even though Telus owns Koodo :)
