You cannot pay off remaining of your existing Tab, but you can purchase your iPHONE to get medium Tab.

You'll have to pay the same amount as paying off the tab just that you will be paying that much more of the price of the ohone. It works out to be the exact same as paying off your tab you already have but your technically not if that makes sense lol.
Hi Audrey, You don't have to pay off your extra balance, but you will still have to pay a certain ammount. If you only had $15 available on your previous TAB because you recently got a phone you'd have to pay $145+tax for your new iPhone 4. If the reverse was true, you had $145 available on your TAB because you got the phone a while ago then you would only have to pay $15+tax for your new phone. So, you can kind of think of it as taking out a "second" tab. Cheers, Aaron

So in this situation, how would the 24 month tab clearing work? What if in a few months Audrey gets an iPhone 5? Does the clearing only go to 0 based on the last phone upgrade? No one seems to be able to address this 😞

It would work the exact same as it does now and only whatever remaining tab for the tab your on is available to use towards a new phone if you choose down the line. If you use the tab again then it would start your 2 years again. That's how it's always been with the big 3 in the past. Just now 2 years is the max instead of 3.

So as an example. If at 23 months (since my last phone upgrade - Tab M) my tab is at -$70 and my phone breaks and I buy another phone utilizing my Tab M (-$230 used for a total tab of -$300). Does that mean since I could not wait 1 more month for the tab clearing that I would lose out on the $70 to bring my tab to 0 and now my tab clearing time resets to another 24 months?

As far as I understand it yes you would lose out on your tab clearing and be put on a new 2 years. I could be wrong so don't quote me on it but that's how I see it. In that case you'd be better to get a cheap phone somewhere or keep a backup which is what I like to do. I'll see if I can get an official word here though.

Thanks Paul. I have been asking a bunch about the tab clearing but all the details I get is that it clears in 24 months. I am still wondering how referrals affect clearing. Like using a similar example if my tab is at -$70 at 23 months and 3 referrals go through right at the end of the 23rd month then my Tab M would be at $5+15% (of my plan) at the end of month 24. However, if my 3 referrals go through at the end of the 24th month then my Tab M would be 0(from tab clearing)+$75 (referral). That is a big swing. I am unsure if Koodo has thought this out but losing $70 because of referral timing is not exactly doing the right thing and will cause ill will during this "renewal period" for the tab clearing.

Happy to clear things up.... For Audrey Henkel: "I just got a phone few months ago. I still got $135 on my tab. But I’m interested in a i-phone 4 on a medium tab. How does that work. Do i have to pay tab off my phone i have now first?" Answer: Nope, you can just add on more negative Tab. Tab M max is -300, and since their Tab is -135, you can put up to $165 towards a new phone on Tab M. Remember, you need to have a rate plan of $30 or more (old or new) and you'll have the Tab M tab charge of $5/month. For Dennis L: "In this situation, how would the 24 month tab clearing work? What if in a few months Audrey gets an iPhone 5?" Answer: The 24 month “clock” starts from your most recent activation or upgrade after July 14. So if you activate or upgrade after this weekend, then your 24 month countdown begins. If you upgrade again say… in December, then the 24 month clock restarts.
