Credit check for existing customers wanting to upgrade phone and who have a legacy tab plan


I've been a customer for over 2 years and have a positive tab balance. I'm on an older tab plan that obviously isn't offered anymore. I'd like to upgrade my phone, which will involve me going on a newer, different tab. What I gather from reading other community threads is that I will not need a credit check for getting the new phone, but will for the new tab. Is this correct?  Thanks.

If you already bought a phone from Koodo you will not need a new credit check.
