Canadian Passport + Social Insurance number for a credit check?

As a university student, my student card doubles as a bus pass so I currently have no need for a license, also since I'm a student I decided against getting a credit card for now. My main question is am I able to use a Passport and my Social Insurance number/card towards a credit check in order to join up with Koodo. Thanks!

Yes you are able to use them. You might be placed on a Spending Limit Cap of $200 and you will start building your credit history. Go to any koodo shop and get it done. Here is the store locator → http://koodomobile.com/en/sk/storelocator.shtml ********** Koodo launched a program that allow permanent new immigrants and international students that have no Canadian ID or Canadian credit history to activate postpaid services with Koodo. All customers that activate through this program will: - Be placed on the Spending Limit Program. -Receive the International Long Distance Promo add-on. (30 Minutes free for international calling /Monthly basis. Scotiabank agreement: Koodo has also an agreement with Scotiabank to promote this program via a Scotiabank buckslip from the StartRight program available at Scotiabank branches. These customers must present the Koodo buckslip they received from Scotiabank.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. One more question, if I wanted to port my cell # over from Rogers what would I need to do so? It's still active and I can print off my latest bill. Do I need my contract? It expired earlier this year and I'm not 100% sure where it even is...

You just need to bring your Rogers account number at point of activation and Koodo will port the number over to koodo. Free. Once the number is been taken over, your Rogers account will be scheduled to be canceled at the end of the billing cycle. You might like to call rogers first and inquiry if there is anything you have to pay. If your contract is over. You are only responsible of your current bill.

The Scotiabank agreement is ONLY for foreigners coming into the country. Anyone native to Canada cannot apply for that.
