what do I have to do to put my service on hold for 4 months?

Callccustomer service and have them put your account on a seasonal hold. Keep in mind that along activating the line againyyou will need to choose from a plan that is availableaat that time, you can't go back to your old plan unless it's being offered from the choices of plans.

You can also go into self serve and change your plan for something called season hold available at 15$/month.
