20 digit SIM for new phone

I just bought a new unlocked phone (samsung s20FE) that takes a nano SIM. Anticipating this, I bought a chatr SIM that I was told would be compatible, but the 20 digit # isn’t working for the koodo transfer process in selfserve.  Any solutions here?

  • My old phone has a micro SIM so not compatible with new phone
  • I live 8 hours from the nearest koodo place so need to solve this remotely

Thanks!

You need to buy a Koodo sim. Chatr is a different company that doesn't have anything to do with Koodo.

Does your old sim happen to be one of the tricut sims where you can pop out a smaller size?

Shoot!  The woman selling me the new SIM seemed confident that it would work.  Any work-arounds?

Nope, old sim isn’t tri-cut. That would have been nice.

No work arounds unless you want to sign up with Chatr (owned by Rogers). Koodo is owned by Telus

You could try cutting your microSIM card down to the size of a nanoSIM card. An x-acto or small utility knife also works well.
