are you on prepaid or month to month? Month to month has to be activated in a store or over the phone, prepaid can be activated right over the Koodos website... but it HAS to be activated first before you get a phone number.
Try a hard reset. Remove the battery and sim card for 30 seconds. Plug it back in. Solves most issues.
This doesn't exactly answer your question, but the Ace 2x has been the bane of my existence ever since I started selling it. If you're still under the original warranty, id recommend using it. Sounds like hardware failure and you should be covered for that.
What exactly isnt working properly? Exactly what Dennis said though, 9 times out of 10 doing a hard reset of the device (removing the battery) fixes many issues.
