"Your current plan is not eligible with tab mid" Trying to get Black Friday deal

I recently switched my plan to the $60 100GB CAN-US plan and wanted to get the Pixel 7 that’s on sale for Black Friday. However when I go to purchase it online, I get a message saying “plan is not eligible with tab mid” however the next page if I try to choose a new plan it says my current plan ($60 100GB) is a Tab Mid plan…

I just want to keep my current plan (the new $60 100GB) and be able to purchase a new phone with the Black Friday deal.

It’s available on Tab Plus as well (same price, $0). Just as a test, is it possible for you to get the phone on Tab Plus?

Ya, I tried using both Plus and Mid, both give me the same message

Let me flag a rep for you. The plan is so new that I’m not sure either, but based on the price you should be able to qualify for any Tab.

@Flo Koodo , I’m having trouble finding that option - I’m already logged in and I thought it was necessary to post.

Telephone support was unable to help me. First they were able to process, but required a $60 charge, and when I indicated it was not possible to complete the change online, the story changed to the phone requires an accompanying plan of $65/mnth or more for Tab Mid.

Can you please look at my account and fix the tab ineligibility. There was no such note or condition as part of the new plan (same as the OP’s).

How does this work, I message and they will take care of the issue in the backend? Or should I follow up again if I haven’t heard back by now?

I recently go the $60 100B Canada-US plan. Will it be eligible for tab in the future? I’m concerned that if it doesn’t work now it might not in the future. So when I want to upgrade then I’ll need to get a new plan because it won’t be in the system to re-add to my account by a rep. I might need to upgrade for Black Friday if that is the case.

Flo was able to help me out. It definitely looks like the plan is not tab eligible, but not being disclosed.

It looks like the system allows you to get a tab and keep the plan.

@Flo Koodo Can you confirm? My phone works but is 3 years old so I will need to upgrade within two years it’s an LG Velvet 5G. If I upgrade after the plan is not shown as an option to me does that mean it’s out of the system and I can’t get the plan back?

It looks like the system allows you to get a tab and keep the plan.

I tried both Tab Mid and Tab Plus. Neither worked and the system message simply noted "Plan is not tab eligible".

If it is officially Tab Mid eligible, that's great, but the resolution was actually to switch plans and have it switched back again. Seems like a workaround rather than a fix.

Spoke with a friend who has the same plan, who was able to put a phone on tab and the system allowed it.

I scheduled a callback tomorrow. I will let you know what I find out.

Ok, that is good to know. I assume they will honour this moving forward.…

Had another line where I was able to get a Tab on a while back (last year, I think), and a second line I setup on the same plan without a tab (within a few days), would not allow a Tab to be added afterwards. Lots of system issues it seems.

 

I had a call with a rep and yes there are issues with the plan currently being eligible for tab. I couldn’t get confirmation if it would be updated to eligible in the future or we can to call in to upgrade our device while we are on it. You won’t lose the plan in the future if you have to call in though is what they told me.
