Just want to express my frustration with the return process during the Canada Post Strike. As a company, it is their obligation to ensure that their processes are still effective even in unwarranted situations such as this. Why are we not utilizing other shipping companies where we can bring the return while Canada Post is on strike? Having to hold on to and pay a tab on a phone that I’m not even using until Canada Post ends its strike is absurd. I have no problem paying for my monthly service plan, however the tab is toward a phone I will not be keeping. I truly hope that I will be getting a credit for the tab paid when the phone is returned, otherwise that is theft. We have no idea how long this strike will be going for, and I can’t get an exchange for a different phone until the phone is returned, and who knows how long that will be at this point. It is truly not right. I have always had such a great experience with Koodo, and have always recommended them to family and friends. I have also been a loyal and long time customer. I am not usually one to make complaints, however, this situatuon is truly one of a kind and frustrating to me.
So just to confirm, you haven't sent the phone yet and just got the email of the return process? I believe they can waive the tab amount once the return starts
The problem is all other shipping carrier is super busy. Many even limit the number of package they can receive. It is just a nightmare. Honestly I blame Canada post for going on strike at this time of year.
They had sent the return instructions via email to bring the parcel to Canada Post for delivery. However, they didn’t even have any clarification about the strike attached to that email to clarify the updated process. I had to email them to ask, then they told me that I needed to hold on to the phone until Canada Post is up and running and then I can return the phone. They also stated that I would still be paying the tab in the meantime. I buy from many companies online and even all the other smaller businesses I buy from have even re-arranged shipping companies while this strike is happening. Koodo is a larger corporation. I fail to see how smaller companies have no issues doing this but a larger company does. They have changed the company they are using to ship the phones while Canada Post is on strike, but they couldn’t change who accepts the returns? It just doesn’t make sense to me from a business perspective. And, I get it that this is not an ideal time, however, the whole process is still extremely frustrating.
Yes I'm also surprised to hear that's Koodo’s solution atm. Unfortunately there's nothing different that can be said here that the webstore hasn't informed you of what to do. If that's what they're saying to do, then I guess that's what it is.
