new phone, new plan?

Currently on the great 100gb can-usa plan that was recently released.. Great! But now I want to upgrade my phone, since I'm eligible. I'd like to get the Galaxy S23 Ultra - but Koodo wants me to essentially downgrade my plan to a Canada only 60gb which will cost $5 more... Wait a sec, this sounds like a cash grab bs offer to me. Not only am I paying upfront for the phone, and paying another $33/month, but they also want another $5 a month AND dow grade my plan? what the heck? seriously?

I don’t see anything about it being a BYOP plan. I’ll flag a rep to confirm if there’s some restriction I’m unaware of for getting a phone on this plan. I would also suggest waiting until Black Friday after receiving confirmation.

Hello @cnorth86

The plan in question is a rate plan change only plan and might not show in the upgrade process.

It is received only through a targeted campaign.

Are you making the purchase today or are you planning on waiting for the Black Friday deals ?

HI Darius, l was hoping to switch now as there seems to be a bit of a deal, and if the price dropped further for black friday I was going to contact Koodo to hopefully get a price adjustment.

My only option when adding a GS23 Ultra to my current account was to change to a 60gb Canada only plan or buy the phone outright ~$2,000..

Got it ! Indeed the Samsung GS 23 ultra has a great deal on it now. We can look into the situation.
