So I went to activate my sim and all was well at the beginning but I accidentally clicked “transfer old number” instead of “new number” so I hit the back button and now every time I time the SIM card number it says invalid… any ideas how to fix this?

Your SIM card number, (not your phone number) is in the system, so when you press ‘back’, the system thinks you’re trying to activate the same SIM card number and returns with ‘invalid SIM’. You can send a private message to Koodo’s Facebook page or schedule a call back using Koodo Assist and ask to have your account reset.
