Prepaid phone usage is higher than it should be - how to verify?

My prepaid usage over Christmas was almost 500 minutes. We were travelling (within Canada) but 500min still seems high. 1) Are all areas within Canada (1 min = 1min)? 2) is there any way to check individual calls? That way if I have one call that is 100+ minutes I would know it never disconnected? No Skype, international calls, etc all calls were within province (Newfoundland and Labrador). Love the boosters double up and Koodo prepaid but I seem to have triple usage. Thanks, jw

My advice with any billing issues is always to call in (611 from your Koodo mobile - free call). We can really only guess what's happening here.

Depending on which phone you have, some devices have built-in minute minder functions so that you can keep track of how many minutes you're using. An audible alert is played when the device reaches the minute mark. This is probably the most accurate if not the most annoying way of keeping track of minutes as it's based off of your phones' internal call timer. An alternative might be an app that tracks minutes used like this one: http://bit.ly/1dyPgwj but keep in mind that these apps are not always 100% accurate. There are apps available online like this one, http://bit.ly/JK5aMV that can assist with call durations.
