Postpaid porting to prepaid


Hi, I want to switch from postpaid to prepaid. I called in and the rep told me I can do this myself, but first I need to get a new "prepaid" SIM card. Why can't they just switch it in their system? That way I can use the same SIM... Anyways, not a big deal. What I forgot to ask is: when this port happens, what will my final postpaid bill be? Remaining tab + prorated or full monthly plan amount (ie. $40+tax in my case). Also, will this final bill be emailed to me (as it is currently setup) or snail mail? Please help, thanks in advance!

Hi Kousei, First, the rep was correct: you need a new prepaid SIM card (it is different from the postpaid one). Once you set up your account and port in your postpaid number, your postpaid account will be terminated immediately. You'll just receive one final bill with your plan up to the day of cancellation, so yes prorated - not a full month + the remaining tab as you mentioned 🙂 Welcome to the wonderful world of prepaid, we have pink ponies and sugar cookies here 😃
