Question

Koodo sim card for Spypoint trail camera.

I would like to buy a wireless trail (hunting) camera which uses a sim card and will text pictures to a cell phone. The camera is supported in Canada only by Telus and the least expensive package is $22 per month plus data charges. I use Koodo on my phone, $15 per month, unlimited texting and pictures. I notice that Koodo uses the Telus network. My question is, could a Koodo sim card work in the camera. (spypoint camera)

If the camera is carrier unlocked and works with Telus, there is no reason to assume it won't work with Koodo... you can try it rather worry free. Just buy a Koodo prepaid SIM for $20 (which gives you $20 credit) and test it 🙂

Instead of buying another sim I would check to see if the sim card in your phone works in the camera to save the money in buying another sim card, (Assuming they both use the same size sim card).

It might be supported only by Telus due to other factors. Koodo is a self-serve brand, and maybe only Telus wireless tech support agents are trained on the camera. Also, not sure if APN settings would work for both Telus and Koodo. The device might also only work on Telus just like Koodo's wireless home phone...although it being a sim-enabled device, it will only register on the network / sim it supports.
But hey, you lose nothing by trying.
