do prepaid cards expire

I'm talking about the credits/minutes. Example: If I were to buy a 50$ card today, would I still be able to use it to top up in a month from now? A year? etc. Thank you!

If you set up a plan via prepaid, you choose a plan 15/25/35/50 based on what you need. 

Lets just say you set up the 15 just for texting, you put 50 dollars in the account. You would treat it like a bank account. Month One 50-15=35 Month Two 35-15=20

When you buy minutes and data they wont expire unless all minutes and MB are used fully. Like milk when you run out, you have to run to the store or self serve to buy an other bucket. 

If you just buy the voucher and don't cash it into your account, no they do not expire. Your active account will auto deacitvate if you do not have funds. This happens after 3 months time. 

We always suggest to set up Visa/Visa Debit cards. It makes the process much easier for you. The options on the website are also very easy once you get to know them. 

If you reactivate your account, just keep in mind the email used cannot be used again for a new self serve account.

The $50 voucher/card will not expire. However, if you apply the voucher to your prepaid account today for example, the money is credited to your account. On the date your baseplan renews and depending on which baseplan you've selected, a portion of or all of the $50 will go toward covering the cost of the baseplan. Talk boosters (minutes) and data boosters do not expire and and continue to rollover until they're used up. If for example, you purchased a 500 minute talk booster in June and only used 150 minutes that month, you would have 350 minutes left for the month of July. The same principle applies for data boosters. If you are without a baseplan for 90 days, your account will be deactivated. You will lose your your phone number and any funds remaining on your account balance, including your talk and data boosters.

It is not very customer friendly: "If you are without a base plan for 90 days, your account will be deactivated. You will lose your phone number and any funds remaining on your account balance, including your talk and data boosters."

I will not be using Koodo anymore as a someone who studies abroad for more than 90 days at a time.

You can let your account lapse for [b][i]up to 90 days and still maintain your account, number, minutes / gb etc, then renew your baseplan for one month and repeat the pattern. I used to do this when snowbirding down south for a portion of the winter before Koodo had prepaid US roaming.
