Do I need a new sim card to activate a used phone?


I had a used phone given to me with service from Koodo,just wondering if I need to buy a new sim card to activate this phone or can I use the sim card that is still in it ?

If the sim was tied to someone elses account the sim will be cancelled as well. If the sim was used within 90 days you can use that same sim card. You'll just have to put the sim # in your self serve account. Mobile phone/change phone.

You can always buy a new sim card for $10 in any Koodo Shop.

That's incorrect SIM is non transferable from accounts nomatter what the time period. The 90 days is only if your using it on the same account it was originally activated on. So if the other person was using that SIM Card then you'll need to get a new one.

also if it turns out you need a new sim, they are $20
