Data usage warnings don't match actual data used

I'm a prepaid user. I just received a text saying "You've used 90% of the data included in your Data Booster Add-on".

This is incorrect: when I login to the prepaid self-serve site, it shows only about half my data has been used:

Amount Used
Data Booster 1GB 518.279 / 1024 MB
I receive these warnings every now and then, and they always arrive way too early. Then when I actually exhaust my data, I get no warning at all.

How can I get the warning texts back in sync with my [b]actual usage?

The reporting chart on selfserve wans't a "live" number. It normally has some 6-12 hours delay in updating.

I would trust your text message in this case.

I recommend using the data tracking on your phone.

Unfortunately the data tracking on my phone (Android) is geared toward a monthly billing cycle. It doesn't help much when trying to track usage of a fixed quota.

If you dial *611 on your device, what value the automatic system gave you???

As long it gives you the correct amount of "remaining" data you should be good.

P.S.: Any Mobile Master or Koodo Reps should pass the info along to the tech team to made sure this bug is fixed.

Oh that is true.  There are other data tracking apps in the Play store that might work for you.  It would be the easiest solution as Koodo does not seem to invest much into their prepaid platform

@TJ Smith: the "remaining data" figure given by *611 matches the number shown on the prepaid self-serve website. I guess it's just Koodo's warning texts that are out of sync with the rest of the system.

@Dennis Thanks I will try that. It's true: Koodo (and phone providers in general) are doing their best to discourage customers from using prepaid service.
