Data Usage Records


I have been getting data usage like at 12am on the recent dates as below.  But I am sure I am not out and have turned off my data (I have this habit to do that as soon as I am connected to any wifi).  I have no idea why there is a 607MB usage, but I have never used any WhatsApp or internet calling or any navigation (at that time of the day).  Is Koodo's data records accurate?  Because I had the same problem with Fido and that's why I am not using Fido anymore!

Who can I ask about this???  (I'm using a Samsung Note8)

Alright you're using an android so this makes it easier. Can you look at your data usage in your settings and see what is using the data? What your WiFi signal strength where your leave it for the night? I think that most carriers in Canada are pretty accurate with that but quality control is never 100% and the system does glitch for a few people. It's possible that you're one of the unlucky few but it's statistically more likely something on your phone is doing it. Especially if it's two carriers that you're with now that have had this same problem.
Alright you're using an android so this makes it easier. Can you look at your data usage in your ...Mainly Maps, Chrome and Instagram, which amounts to about 59xMB from Jul 1 to 31.  But I started using Koodo since July 19th only.  ~.~

Alright you're using an android so this makes it easier. Can you look at your data usage in your ...Your phone defaults at certain dates. You have to manually set up the dates to be accurate with your Koodo billing cycle. It is showing you the data usage from june 1-31 but it would be 0MB used until the 19th or whenever you first used data.

Using Virgin mobile was never a problem for me though!

Can you post a screen shot of both (with personal info removed). Ideally for July 19th and forward for your phone data usage

Furn, are you a pre-paid subscriber?  If so, please note that the data in your usage history page is only updated.... I forget if it's every 12 hours around midnight and noon, or every 24 hours only around midnight.  But either way, this is what you're seeing.  It's not X mb being used right at that time, ti's X mb that's been used since the last time it updated (I believe it's approx every 24 hours).  
Furn, are you a pre-paid subscriber?  If so, please note that the data in your usage history...Prepaid...  but the total data I used still doesn't add up.  My phone says about 800MB in total from July 1 to 31st.  And I only started using Koodo on July 19th.

Here's a screen capture from prepaid usage history. If I'm not travelling, my data on the phone is [b][i]off, and my reception at home is usually [i][b]no service since I am in a rural area. Will check email once in a while when on the road. Notice all the zero entries pretty much every day. There are 2 more pages of this that could be shown.

Hard to explain, but it would certainly be a concern if the zero entries actually had some leakage numbers that would lead to charges.



Just for giggles, I'm taking a screen shot of my remaining booster balances and will check back in a week to see if the phantom 0 data thief actually raided my cookie jar.

If I'm not travelling, my data on the phone i...Mats is your account pre-paid or post-paid?  What I mentioned only applies to prepaid.  And actually I could be totally wrong about the update intervals as I've never had a prepaid Koodo account; however, I was basing it on my previous experience with [prepaid-only] Public Mobile, with which Koodo pre-paid account shares and identical [save for colour scheme] looking system.

I was thinking I should have gone with Public Mobile coz there's more data with the same price as Koodo.

I think they are having some promo on data 3G speed as of now. If you don't mind lower data speed, you could join PM with those promo plans. They are running on the same network of Telus/Koodo
