added a 35 dollar base plan now i have a zero balance


i just added a 35 dollar base plan and now my cell says.... emergency calls only and does not allow any text messages at all ? i have done this many times b4 and it has worked with a zero balance ? why is my cell not working ? im so irritated ..... if it has worked b4 and dose not now im gonna mad if i have 2 add 5 dollars !!!!!!! it's worked many many times b4 on a zero balance ? i don't understand it ? so wish i did'nt switch from telus. ever since i got onto koodo every month there is a problem with my cell also calling the *611 im not even allowed 2 do that with my cell and it's a prepaid yes , but i thought i should be able to call the *611 ? but it does'nt allow me

Take the sim card and battery (if possible) out of the phone. Slowly count to 10. Put the sim card and battery back into the phone. Turn the phone back on. Does it work now?

i took the sim card out and left it out for like 3 min's and no it still does'nt work 😞 thanks 4 trying 😞 i have 2 leave 2 a meeting soon i'll be back aound 1 -1:30

Hi Sherry, Sorry you're having troubles! You can certainly call *611 on prepaid, but I guess since it doesn't show any network, that doesn't work for you right now. Since battery/sim card pulling didn't work, can you check if your phone settings have chosen Koodo as your network? Are you in an area with coverage? I guess so since you mentioned coming from Telus (they share the same towers). When you go into your phone settings and look at the available networks in your area, what does it say? Also, did it work before on that particular phone? It might be locked to Telus... just a few random thoughts 🙂

yes it does not even allow me 2 call *611 😞

Try this settings->more settings make sure flight mode/airplane mode does not have a green checkmark beside it settings->more settings->mobile network make sure network mode is set to GSM/HSPA/LTE auto mode tap on network operators search networks select koodo. Also, did you bring your telus phone to koodo? As Sophia mentioned it could be locked to telus. If it is, getting your phone unlocked is recommended.

i brought it in 2 koodo here in my town and the koodo place told me it's the cell its' self. needs 2 be repaired ! has sum wrong with the cell device it's self which sucks cuz i just got it like a month ago or less and it's past the 14 day thingeee
