With the removal of the old international plans, does Koodo plan on having a new method to cover countries not available for Easy Roam?

My daughter is in a small overseas country for the next 8 weeks. When Koodo removed the existing package and replaced it with Easy Roam there is no plan that she can purchase.

It tells you easy Roam won't work there? May I ask which nation? 2 months is a while and there's only a couple countries in the world you cannot get better for less than 200 dollars.

If EasyRoam isn't available you can use the pay per use rates.

I suggest looking on that website to have all the information you want about mobile carrier available in the country : http://prepaid-data-sim-card.wikia.com/wiki/Prepaid_SIM_with_data

Unlocking looks to be like the cheapest method for your daughter,
Thank you everyone for your replies. My daughter is in Nepal. I had Koodo unlock the phone before she left but when she tried a local sim card she could not connect to her Apple i.d. on the iphone (I am somewhat hazy on the details). I checked and was billed out by Koodo for unlocking in September. Strangely enough, when I unlocked my own phone over the weekend with Koodo they sent me a code to use when I put in a new sim card. I never had that before and they didn't send one when we unlocked my daughter's phone.

Any thoughts?

IPhones are locked via Apple's servers. To unlock an iPhone, the unlocker just sets the state from locked to unlocked to put it simply. With other devices they require you to enter an unlock code on your device. If you could provide some more details on what is happening with your daughters phone we could try and help out. (Ex: What errors she is getting, does her phone say no service, no sim, invalid simply, etc.)

If she has any form of two-factor security installer (where changes to the phone cause a message to be sent to another trusted device for confirmation), there may be extra steps involved.

Also, isn’t a restore required after unlocking when unlocking iPhones? I forget, it’s been a long time since I owned a locked iPhones. I always buy direct from Apple.

@Cory,
    A restore is sometimes needed, but not in all cases.
