WiFi calling and VoLTE not working

Hi,

 

I can't activate WiFi calling on my Pixel. It used to work couple months ago, but I can't turn it on anymore.

 

Also I noticed that the phone switches to H+ during calls which indicates that VoLTE is not working.

 

I checked my add-ons in self serve and it looks like VoLTE and Wifi Calling add-ons are not here.

 

Any ideas what can be wrong?

We have added the VoLTE add-on to your account, you should now be able to finish activating it.

Hi Dennis and Boa_Guy, can you please also help me to enable VoLTE and Wifi Calling? I don’t see the option to enable this addon in self serve.

@wenbei Are you a Koodo postpaid customer? And which phone are you using? 

Was there any error message when you tried to enable wifi calling https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/wifi-calling

Also, can you log into selfserve, check the addon of your plan to see if you had the “volte access” addon? many customers might already have this.

I can enable volte/wifi call with no error messages on my phone. But I do not have the volte addon in self serve.

I have a Oneplus 6.

To be clear, the volte/wifi call does not work, it just doesn’t show error.

Do I need to call Koodo and ask them to enable the addon?

If you had a OnePlus device, both VoLTE and VoWifi wouldn't work. OnePlus devices aren't supported by Koodo. you need a "compatible" device to use those features. More here https://www.koodomobile.com/help/volte

I have a similar issue. I ported my number over from Fido to Koodo in January and haven't been able to use wifi calling since. I'm a monthly customer and using Samsung S10+.  I don't see the VoLTE addon in my self serve account and no option in my settings menu anymore. Please help!!! I need Wifi Calling as I work in remote area without network access.

@Boa_Guy Koodo I am having the same issue with my Google Pixel 6. I just ported my number from Eastlink wireless. I am currently a monthly customer. I don't see the VoLTE add-on in my self serve account and the option in my phone settings is not there. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me out. Thanks in advance

How do I know if it's enabled other than what I see under the add-ons menu? My phone isn't showing any type of VoLTE button? Also, I'm having trouble activating VoWIFI as well? When I try to enable it, it says to contact carrier to enable. Arghhh...technology. Thanks.

Soooo... I'm back in the network coverage today. I restarted my device twice now and VoLTE is toggled on my phone and the Access point name is also Koodo SP but I still don't see the option for WiFi calling on my phone? Please help

I'm having the same issue with wifi calling being unable to turn on my pixel 6a since switching to Koodo.  Could I have VoLTE added to my account?

@singhtalks  We have looked into your account, and we can assure you that the VoLTE add-on has been added to both lines.  

After verification, we can also see that the device on the line ending by *7098, is not a VoLTE compatible device.

@singhtalks Here’s an excerpt from Koodo’s Wi-Fi Calling Help page.

Please activate WiFi calling when you’re under cellular coverage. WiFi calling will automatically be triggered when you’re out of cellular coverage.

Try downloading the app Hidden Settings (by Oalex). Once the app is installed and opened, scroll down and tap RadioInfo. Tap the menu icon (three dots) then tap IMS Service Status. This generates a report that shows IMS registration status and whether VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling are provisioned or not.

Tap anywhere outside the report to exit. Scroll down a bit to the group of toggle switches. By default, the Mobile Radio Power toggle switch should be enabled. The VoLTE Provisioned and Wi-Fi Calling Provisioned toggle switches should also be enabled, if everything was setup correctly.

So....I downloaded the app but I do not see any options such as Radio info. This is all I see in the menu for Hidden Settings 😔
