Why are the rates different for existing customers?

I want to change my plan, but the posted rates/plans are priced differently for new customers than existing customers.  The $45/month plan is different (better) for new customers.  

I have my own phone that I’m bringing.

Yeah, that’s true, Koodo has better rates for new customers, or customers willing to upgrade their phone. You could contact them and see if they are willing to accommodate you, or you could find a provider to which you are “new” and thus benefit from their offers :)
