We need a competitive option for US roaming!

Hey K, pretty happy with the service so far, but what's with the roaming rates? You guys have outrageously high rates for the US, and no Roam Like Home option that Rogers has or US inclusive plan like Videotron has. I'm going on a trip down South next week and am thinking of switching to Rogers/Videotron before I go to avoid being gouged by your rates. Any plans to offer something better soon?

I thought the texting roaming add-ons were reasonable especially for longer periods. http://help.koodomobile.com/coverage-long-distance-and-travelling/travelling I do like Roam Like Home. However when used for more than a week it gets quite pricey

I don't find the prices reasonable, personally. I believe Koodo and Bell are now the two worst for roaming fees. Roam like home would cost a while after more than a few days, but it is still a better deal than the Koodo roaming packages. Videotron and Wind seem to offer the best US roaming options at the moment - I'm just not wanting the hassle of switching that much.

Keep in mind you'd need to sign up for Share Everything, which is more than likely more expensive than what you have with Koodo. http://www.rogers.com/web/link/build-your-plan I like where Rogers is going with their value added services like this, but the base plan is more expensive.

If you look at getting your device Unlocked "Roam Mobility" has some of the best US Roaming plans that I know of.

Hey John, what's the plan that you've described above, and does it include a simcard?

ConsumerCellular. SIM is $10(refundable) from Target or Sears. Check out their site. Factor in the cost of unlocking your phone and using a US number. Only worth it for extended stay.

If I was traveling to the US enough to need something better than what Koodo has, I would just be unlocking my phone and grabbing a sim card from a US carrier.

7-Eleven has a 2-for-1 promotion on Roam Mobility SIMs (at least here in Toronto) - $10 for 2 SIM cards.
