Question

Upgraded to a plan with unlimited messaging. Still being charged for unlimited messaging add-on from old plan.

Old plan had to have an add-on for $5 unlimited messaging.  Upgraded plan had this included but saw that there was still the charge for the old $5 addon in addition.  So, it was like being charged twice for the same thing.  Wondering why old add-ons don't get cancelled when plans are upgraded? Especially, when they no longer apply to the new plan.

Hi Ken, is this your first bill after the plan change, if so you'd be charged a part month for the addon up until you changed your plan. Or is the charge on there twice if it is your first bill since the change?

The billing isn't the issue. I can understand if there needs to be partial billing for old services. The add-ons, however, still appear on the plan, unchanged.

The system is pretty simple.  It is also an add-on that is no longer available, so once it is removed it cannot be added back on

Why would I want to add it back? The new plan already has unlimited messaging, Dennis. If the system can't delete old redundant add-ons, then it might need a bit of upgrading to smarten it up!

They could definitely use more upgrading, but that comes with a cost and Koodo is a low cost carrier

Hmm that's interesting. I guess the system doesn't recognize redundancies? You can send a private message to Koodo via Facebook Messenger or DM via Twitter to have it sorted out and the refunded

Finally received a response this morning. It seems as though add-ons are a separate entity according to their system. Plans are one thing and add-ons are another. Changing plans does not affect add-ons even when there is a redundancy.
