Thinking of switching to Koodo. Need to know the "fine print" and any hidden restrictions.

I need to dump my FIDO plan and switch to another provider. The reason being I have spent much of the summer in Fido’s “Extended” coverage area and since more than 50% of my usage was outside their main network, they cut me off for a month! I looked over the coverage map on the Koodo site and I believe it covers both home and cottage, but I want to make sure there’s no similar restriction on Koodo plans. Also, the plan I’m considering ($60/month for 20G) says on the website description that “Pay-per-use rates apply for multimedia (picture and video) messages. Excludes premium and subscription-based messages.” What does that refer to? Some apps like Marco Polo and WhatsApp have video message content. Is that not included in the plan?

I don’t want another provider with hidden restrictions and misinformation like FIDO.
