I have an old plan, CAN Data 1 GB Unlimited Min, which has unlimited SMS and MMS. I recently texted someone in the US and was looking at my usage on Self Serve and was wondering why the US text messages were categorized separately from the other text messages I received and sent. For example it says I sent and received 150 text messages in one spot and then it says 4 US text messages in another. According to my Self Serve I'm not being charged anything for the 4 US text messages but I know that can change. I just want to make sure I won't get charged. So if anyone can help me on this it would be greatly appreciated.

You will not be charged for US texting as long as you remain in Canada. The reason it seperates it into a different counter is that not all plans include international texting (very old plans) so they need to have the counter in place for the older plans. You won't be charged and it won't change unless you change to a plan that does not include international text messages (All plans currently include this).
