Swapping SIMS

I am trying to find out if you can swap back and forth between SIMS on a single line frequently or are restricted to only occasional swaps. I am getting e new phone with nano sim but want to keep old phone with micro sim as backup device on the same line. So I would like to be able to reactivate the micro sim if there are problems with the new phone setup. Thanks for letting me know.

You can swap for a period of time before the sim that you swap out of is deactivated. But it's not a seamless swap. You could hold onto it until you see if the new one works, but it is not a long term solution.
Thanks for this. Is there any form of adapter for using nano sim in mini sim slot so it could be swapped back and forth while being kept live? Thanks again,

Yes. You can buy adapters for different sim sizes online anywhere and in a lot of stores.

OK it looks like the solution would be to get a nano SIM and adapter and if it is registered continuously I should be able to use it in either phone as long as the adapter works well? Thanks again for all your advice.

As long as each sim is active once in a 90 day period you can swap indefinitely on postpaid. I used to keep sim numbers in a list and just copy and paste when I needed to changes phones for a bit. There is no limitations other than the 90 day one..

I have 3 devices(1 main and 2 back up) and each device has Sim in it.
You can swap back and forth between them through self serve.[ self serve > change phone > enter SIM number > restart your phone]  There is no restriction to doing this:)
Just remember re- activate each SIM within 90 days as Chad said to avoid expired SIM.
