I have seen the post that people complain/confused to get charged for talk minutes overage due to changing a plan in the middle of the billing cycle. Say you have 200 min/ month and you used them up in 15 days. So you switch to unlimited minutes plan. What will happen to you next? You will get 100 minutes overage charges because of the proration. - 200 min/mo means 100 min for 15 days. It is showing total amount minutes under "Anytime Minutes" right now. Up to 200, 300, 500...so on. My idea is that just add prorated amount under the minutes. Up to 200 ( 6.6/day), 300( 10/day), 500( 16.6/day).... I think this will make easier to understand what proration is about when you change your plan.

If anything, I just know that it will confuse customers and make them think they have a set number of minutes per day. IMO, I don't think this is the solution for this problem. (I believe this is somewhat done), but when changing plans a warning should come up saying "Your previous plan and features will be prorated. Ensure you have not used too many minutes or aritime charges may be applicable". Maybe even a code in the warning that will calculate and display how many mins

Or show a calculation of previous minutes remaing(or a negative if they gone over on their old plan) and a calculation of remaining minutes on new plan.

I'm not too sure how they will do this but I know that it's really annoying that you don't know how many minutes you have because of proration and it doesn't show up in Self Serve. I still don't fully understand proration.

What if they just simply eliminated proration? All changes take effect at your next bill cycle date.

Hi Mayumi,

We just talked about this as a team today. We're looking at proration holistically and seeing how we can make the customers experience better and easier. Your idea is smart, so we're going to take this into consideration this year. It's a large undertake, but it's proration as a whole is a priority of ours 🙂

Great! It's difficult to understand for many people what proration is.I really want less people get surprised by it. There is "Pro-rated First Bills" under the Nitty Gritty and Other Charges. Maybe you can add " Pro-rated minutes" or something too
