Serving Size 50 Plan

I currently have a Serving Size 50 plan. I was wondering if my plan comes with Canada-wide calling and text messaging? Also, what are the pay-per-use data rates?

Serving size 50 includes 50 minutes of local calling and allows you to send 25 text messages. Incoming text messages are free. Pay per use data rates on this plan are $3/MB for the first 5 MB, $0.05/MB for each additional MB. No CD, no VM. Honestly, switch to a current plan if you plan to use this phone for anything but emergencies.

Either a plan, or even prepaid seems to offer more and better options!

Or get a Moto G on Tab, cancel after the first month, and then switch to prepaid 😛

Kind of why I shake my head when people wax nostalgic about how great plans used to be.

I am nostalgic (for others) about the Talk & Text plans, not so much what they offered but the flex data was out of this world.... I recommended most people that didn't call much but used a lot of data to those!

I see what you mean, Timo. The Works? Anyone remember that from somewhere around Q2/Q3 2012? 150 mins with E/W free at 6 or 5 can't remember, text/CD/VM, 250MB data OR BB Social (if you got a BB, you didn't have a choice) for $40 and people loved it! Or how about the "Canada-wide data plan" around the same time for $50 with 150 mins, E/W free at 7, text/CD/VM and 1GB of data? Want an Optimus Black for $300/$150 on Tab for that? We now have 10% for BYOD, much better/newer phones, 2 year guarantee payoff, Tab M/L to make the expensive phones more attainable, paying off Tabs to upgrade rather than pay the difference in store, authorized users to do upgrades, data plans are now available to BB legacy devices rather than specific add-ons, unlimited international calling options, Self Serve has gotten some upgrades, and somewhat worse but not all bad plans and people are still whining?? Good lord people. Now with that being said, I don't entirely agree on the plans front though; there were a few older plans which really rose above the rest: Summer 2012, around the release of the S III (Koodo launch came later to the party): 6GB Super!! 250 mins, Unlimited incoming, E/W free at 7 or 6, text/CD/VM, 6GB data Q4 2012 promos: $39 (400 mins, 600MB) with the $5/250MB overage $45 with 450 mins, Unlimited incoming, 1GB data $60/59/58/57/eventually 56: Unlimited calls in and out with 2GB data Q4 2013: $52 Unlimited/1GB, $62 Unlimited/2.5GB, the issues were the worse overage rates

I've got the super, it's 5PM nights/weekends. Pretty sure people have the nostalgia for old plans on price point only.

Plans do indeed tend to pack more value now than they did in the past, even though they cost more. I'd also like to commend Koodo on upping their game getting higher end phones recently. Since they decided to get the S3 in late 2012, they haven't been shy to go S4, now M8 and S5, and iPhones and LG A341. We have it good 🙂
