Service has disappeared....

Why has the reception in the Pike Bay area of the Bruce Peninsula now got even worse then it already was? This happened a couple of days ago to both phones - iPhone 4 and Blackberry Curve. We did nothing different - the signal just stopped where we live. We have to drive 2 miles to get a signal that is useable now. We already called customer service and nothing was resolved. NOT happy with Koodo or their non-existent service.

Hmm. Have you guys tried pulling battery/SIM cards out of each phone for about a minute to reset them? Sometimes it'll take a kickstart to restablish a connection again. If this doesn't solve your issue, as long as nothing has changed in your area recently (new buildings, etc). then it could be a network concern. You'll probably want to call customer service again and ask for tech support to see if there's something wrong in your area.

It could be your phones, not necessarily the network. That said what you hold in your hand is a cellphone. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't. Especially in areas outside of big cities. The technology is just not as perfect as landline phones. No cellphone company will be able to provide you with 100% service. If they say they would they lie!

We both know Chad that even in downtown Montreal, Toronto or any other city there will be dead spots. 🙂

We had service and now we don't is the bottom line. We did nothing to the phones to change anything. They both just stopped getting the signal we used to have.

We previously had service!!! Then it stopped working at our location - on BOTH phones - SAME day. Called Koodo. Got a ticket. We are now assessing wether we even need these damn things with the aggravation they cause.

I totally understand your frustration however without logging a ticket, nothing would get done. I don't work for Koodo so there was very little I could do to help you other than prod you to call customer service and log the ticket. Hopefully there is just an issue with the tower that can be resolved but it won't happen overnight. And especially not without the ticket.
