So, which one is it: automatic after 6 months or no end date and it is all manual?

The link I provided says 6 months. I would go by this unless they change the info on the link.

You can send Koodo a private message to their FB page or Twitter, or call them where they can verify your account and further assist you on this matter.

Unless you specifically had koodo setup a future plan change back to a normal plan, (in which case self serve should indicate that there is a pending plan change), your account will remain on seasonal hold until you switch it back.

And, seasonal hold will not continue for more than 6 months. You will then be placed automatically on one of the lower cost plans.

I've confirmed with our koodo contact that it is 6 months

I want to try it, but $90+tax and 6 months of waiting for a worthless loophole would be a waste.

Port your number out to a free or cheapie VoIP service if it's that important to you. You will have to settle up any tab balance and close your Koodo account, but no lingering charges. You can probably record a VoIP voicemail message that your callers will hear during your absence.

Either way, you will have to pick a new plan when you resume local service, but at least the number is yours to keep.
