Questions: Tab & Number/Plan Switch

Userlevel 1
A few questions for you...

1) My brother recently left Koodo. How does he find & pay off what is remaining on his small tab? He does not use self-serve.

2) I currently have a Samsung Intensity phone that has a $25 plan/add-on package that is no longer offered at Koodo. I want to buy an unlocked iPhone 5s, transfer my current number over and start a new plan. However, I want to keep my Samsung Intensity with the $25/month plan for my mother to use. I have spoken with 2 different Koodo representatives (Futureshop & Koodo Kiosk) and I received 2 different answers as to whether or not this is possible. However, both suggested that I ask Koodo directly. Is this possible? If so, in what order do I proceed (i.e. step 1 - buy phone, step 2 - bring phone to Koodo shop to get a SIM card, step 3 - call Koodo to switch numbers, etc.)?

(FYI: Your "secure online form" used to ask questions does not work. I tried launching it with 2 different browsers and nothing loads).

1) he should receive a paper bill with the final amount. 2) I don't think this is possible, as you would have to port your current phone number to a new phone/new account. once the number is ported, the account wiht the samsung would be closed....

For (2): Sorry, but you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want to keep your phone number, then you can buy the iPhone 5S unlocked and get a nano-SIM card from Koodo and activate it on your account. You can then use your iPhone with the same phone number. You can switch to a new plan, but you will then lose the $25/mo plan that is no longer offered. Your mother won't be able to get the unavailable plan. If you want to transfer the $25/mo plan to your mother, then simply give her your Samsung Intensity (she will keep your current phone number), and you can start a new plan with your iPhone. However, you will have a new phone number that you will need to disseminate to your contacts.

Hey Kaitlyn! Quasarito’s answer is right 😉 No known issue with Self Serve Web form. Keep in mind that Koodo Self Serve is optimized for Internet Explorer 7 and above and Mozilla Firefox 3 and above. Please try again, using either one of these browsers. You can also try clearing your browser cookies and cache, closing your browser, and logging in or registering once more. I hope this helps. ________________________ If you see a good answer, give it a star.

@Vincent. Couldn't 2) be completed with a premium triangular swap? I think I had this done with Koodo when I gave my mom my existing number with a new plan while I got a new number with the existing plan

LOL! Thanks folks! I was just ribbing Vincent because his tagline is "If you see a good answer, give it a star". My intent wasn't to fish for stars. Okay, maybe from Vincent. 😛 😉

Hey Kaitlyn! In addition to all the suggestions, give us this last chance by calling (*611 from your Koodo phone or 1-866-995-6636 from a landline) or sending us a secured email (via Self Serve) to http://koo.do/YqucV0 (choose “social media”) & we’ll do our best to find a suitable solution. Thank you! @Dennis: the triangle swap can be performed with 2 CDMA phones. If it’s with 2 HSPA phones then it’s just a Sim card switch. @quasarito: yeaaaah and the star goes to…! 🙂 ________________________ If you see a good answer, give it a star.

I think I found a better plan for my mom with your pre-paid plans (I missed this section the first time around). Thanks for all your help!
