I would get the base plan and then get the top talk and data booster.

Boosters never expire as long as you keep your baseplan active.

This is a great way to start. With a credit card registered for automatic top-ups, your monthly hit is only $13.50 with the cheapest base plan that covers all your texting, and $55 will carry you a very long way with minutes and data. If you really want to slice the pennies in 2, you may be able to find the prepaid SIM for under $10 on eBay.ca, and still get the $20 activation credit.

Thank you.Would you as a new customer go for the larger or smaller size addons to get started ?

The larger ones have better value.  But it depends on your usage and how long you think you will have your phone.

I like value and use a decent amount of talk and data so I would choose the larger one.

If you are unsure I would choose a smaller or middle booster.
The benefit is that they never expire as long as you keep your account active with a baseplan.

Have been using Speakout and now will try to calculate what is best value for me.
Hoping that the billing and cell service are the same if not better. This community forum seems very friendly and helpful.

Speak out is cheap for sure.

I have had friends use them in the past.

A lot of it depends on your usage.
Do the cost comparison and go with what works best for you
