I’ve been with Koodo now going on ten years. I decided to look at their Black Friday deals. I pay $39.00 for 20bg. I see they have a deal for $40.00 and 40gb. Would I be able to switch to that or is it for New Customers Only?
So once again Koodo is screwing over loyal long term customers. Oh, well. Virgin Mobile is offering the same plan. Might be time to move on.

The $60 100GB CAN-US plan is for existing customers only. New activations do not have access to this plan

I have no desire whatsover to pay $60.00 a month!!!!!
You’ll likely find the same policy with any other carrier. These plans are specifically to get new lines activated. No one should show blind brand loyalty. They all give special offers for new customers.
Yeah, I’m now looking into other companies. It would be nice though if a company offered loyal customers the same deals, but that’s not how it goes.

Exactly. I would never in a full year plus use 100 GB. Why would I want to spend $25 a month ($300/year) for something I don’t want or need? Virgin has the same plan to lure me over there. I have been a loyal customer for about 12+ years. I’m looking at Virgin, whom I left to go to Koodo. Money talks. Apparently, loyalty doesn’t.
Check self serve to see what your offers are there. You can also try messaging Koodo on Facebook messenger to see if they will switch you anyway. I have read in other forums that they seem more willing to budge and give existing customers current offers for new customers. Worst they can do is say no,.
I contacted them on Facebook then through messenger and got the plan I wanted within 3 minutes. No questions asked. I don't know why they couldn't or wouldn't do it when I was talking with them on the phone. Anyhow, Facebook and messenger worked.
Number 1, you owe no company any loyalty like Goran said.
Number 2, you are also not acting very loyal, threating to leave because you dont get what you want.
But I don’t think Loyalty is the right word here. I think it’s convenience, because you can easily get the plan by moving providers, but it is just slightly inconvenient to do so
