International SMS mess...multiple counts?

Userlevel 3
I noticed that all the International SMS messages are marked as sent and received multiple times over: Apr. 10, 2015 Text Messages 2 messages $0.00 Show more 07:00 Text Msg - Received: 0114xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx messages $0.00 Apr. 10, 2015 International Text Messaging 3 messages $0.00 Show more 08:53 Roaming Txt Msg - Sent: 0114xxxxxxxxxxxx 1 messages $0.00 08:53 Roaming Txt Msg - Sent: 0114xxxxxxxxxxxx 1 messages $0.00 08:54 Roaming Txt Msg - Sent: 0114xxxxxxxxxxxx 1 messages $0.00 a. this is NOT roaming b. all the above is recorded for ONE incoming and ONE outgoing message...why this mess? It is not an isolated case...all my Int SMS show up the same way....received only ONCE though. Does it actually mean the Koodo network tried 3 times to send the message (2 failures)? AFAIK there is no delivery confirmation (mine is not set) unless explicitly required. This still does not explain the "2" incoming ones - as I only received it once, as reflected in the time stamp. Something is screwed up here in the reports.

OK...So... What are you upset about, the wording of it? Or? It's quite common knowledge that international texts are much easier to lose over transmission which is common reason why they try and resend. Would you rather your text not get sent? Could you actually tell us what your problem/question is specifically. You aren't making it clear.

Hi MD, if you sent one international text message and you're getting charged for several, I would call koodo and let them know, if the amount adds up to a significant amount, Koodo might remove the charges for the "extra" messages. 🙂

If a 613 message got picked up for roaming, I'll guess you are outside of the country texting away. Where were you when you sent those messages?

Did you check out what dftbutt said about long messages being split into two?

I would appreciate getting a bit of credit here guys...if I was THAT dumb not to realize I crossed the char limit, I wouldn't deserve a reply.
Secondly...no, no US towers in Delhi 🙂

I think the whole roaming thing here is that yes it is a roaming message if your sending it out of country regardless where you are, even if you are home. Notice how it did not say roaming when you received the text message? As Ahmad said, those three messages being sent is most likely a message that failed to arrive to the destination and they are being retransmitted. So as he pointed out, why get upset that your message is making it to it's destination? Delivery confirmation settings make no difference whatsoever in this case. The packets that get sent are automatically acknowledged by the destination host and if those acknowledgements are not received from the initial host, then it will resent the packet that has not been acknowledged. If your issue is something completely different, please let us know. As Ahmad said, your not making your point very clear! Hope this helps

Also, how many characters in the messages? If greater than 160 characters, it is possible the messages were split in two and sent separately?

As to Roaming, were you near the border, and possibly connected to a US cell tower?

It really wasn't necessary to bump a 7 month old thread. Remember to look at dates of threads

And your (useful) point is...?

07:35Roaming Txt Msg - Sent: 91xxxxxxxxx messages$0.60
07:35Roaming Txt Msg - Sent: 91xxxxxxxxx messages$0.60
07:35Roaming Txt Msg - Sent: 91xxxxxxxxx messages$0.60

Please take your wisdom to another thread. You've provided your "contribution" here.
