You can receive calls from anywhere without getting charged and you can receive and make texts to and from anywhere.

Incoming calls from US or other countries are treated as normal local incoming calls. Make sure your plan include lminutes so you would not be charged overage. If you had unlimited minutes then you don't have to worry. Incoming text is always free.
