Hey, so I recently went into my local Koodo to start on a plan and get a phone. I recently broke my phone and saw this as an opportunity to take over my own plan under a different provider so we cancelled me on my family plan (now having turned 18). Although I was rejected as I did not have sufficient ID. I only have my health card and old highschool cards. I do not drive (don't have a car), and nor do I travel so I do not have a passport.
It takes 4-6 weeks to get a passport.
It takes 4-6 weeks to get an Ontario ID.
What would you recommend I do? I can not go without a phone for a month to a month and a half. I need to be available for work, I need to be available during an emergency etc. Is there anyway Koodo can simply accept my health card? It has photo ID, date of birth, my signature, and my full name. It displays me in essence, yet is rejected? I understand that they can not ask for it as ID, but it is my only form of identification. Why is 2 forms [b]required?
