Discrepancy between text from koodo and web site stats on data


I got a text from koodo saying that half my data (prepaid) has been used. But when I checked the website, it says:  271.856  /  1024 MB is used. Which one has priority/is correct?

I'd say the text message is correct. Stop using data for now and look back in a few hours on the site to see if it changed to the actual amount.

I agree that I would err on the side of caution and assume that the one that shows higher usage is correct. The nice thing about prepaid though, is that either way, you won't get any nasty surprises due to overage.

I've noticed this glitch as well. After applying a data booster the other night, within five minutes, I receive a text stating that I've use 50% of my data. Check self-serve and I'm nowhere near 50%. Checked it again a few hours later, values are still the same, with usage well below 50%. I've really only seen this issue on two other occasions, but due to the fact that these occurrences were so far apart from each other, I figured it to be more a sporadic system glitch with no real cause for alarm.
The text was on the 1st, today's the 3rd. I just checked the site again and I'm still nowhere near 50% of data used, so....

rikkster stated above that he has seen a glitch where the message is sent out by accident. As it has been 2 days I think it is safe to assume that the website is right. If you have something tracking data usage on your phone you can look at that too for a rough estimate of how much you have used.
