Difference between koodo and fido

What are the tab differences between Tab medium and the fido tab24? The phone I want is a nexus 4, from koodo I can get the phone free with tab medium, 45$ a month, with fido I have to pay 50$ with tab24 and pay 45$ a month, Which carrier will be cheaper when my plan is over or cancelled? Thanks

Koodo. At least the way you described it. If you leave before the 24 months is up you have to pay whatever outstanding amount you will have at the time. Same for both koodo and fido. If you stay for the full 24 months, once again both companies will waive whatever you have left to owe after that. So, up front you pay less with koodo for the phone by $50. Beyond the price you may also want to look a few other things. This is a decent barometer of what Canadians think. A ranking from May of all cellphone companies. Koodo came in first. http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/story/2013/05/09/technology-jd-power-survey-customer-satisfaciton-wireless.html

Koodo has the best overall deal on the Nexus 4, followed shortly by Telus and Fido.

I believe Jonathan is right. Compared to other carriers, I think Koodo has the best overall buy.

Future Shop or Best Buy will give you the Fido Nexus 4 for $0 for a limited time. Something to consider. So, with that in mind, you could currently pay $0 up front for the Nexus 4 from either provider (assuming a tab medium from Koodo), but the remaining phone balances, and thus, balance owing if you choose to cancel, will differ since their full phone price differs as do the monthly tab contributions. Given that you would be using the Tab medium, lets just take the plans as effectively equivalent, $45 monthly. On the one hand, Fido has a larger up front remaining balance of 425-50=$375, while Koodo's is $300. On the other hand, given the plan you are choosing, Fido's monthly deduction from the remaining tab will be larger than Koodo's. Fido will deduct $375/24=$15.625 per month off the tab, whereas Koodo will deduct 15% of you monthly plan pretax bill (in this case 15% of $40, or $6) plus the tab contribution of $5 for a total of $11 monthly off your tab . If Y denotes remaining balance and X denotes months (between 0 and 24): Fido: Y=375-15.625X Koodo: Y=300-11X The two intersect at X=16.22 months. So basically, Fido will have a larger remaining phone balance if you choose to cancel up to the 16th month, at which point Koodo's remaining phone balance will be larger up until the 24th month where they both go to 0.
