While on a business trip my data usage got blocked when it reached 4GB. However I am paying for a 30GB plan. Of course Koodo made it next to impossible to get a hold of a person easily so I had no option but to pay extra to add more data to my plan. When I checked on my other numbers that I have with Koodo, the data limits seem lower than what the plan is supposed to offer. Anyone else having similar issues?
Have you recently change your plan to the 30gb? How did you know your plan was limited to 4GB? Was it a phone settings or you received a text from Koodo saying your data was blocked?
It was a text from Koodo, plus I saw the same when logged into the Koodo account. And confirmed when my data stopped working and my only option was to pay to add more. I did change from a 15GB to 30GB plan recently but it why would this drop my available usage to 4GB when I hardly used my data for the month?

When did you change your plan and when is your billing cycle date? If you changed your plan in a middle of a billing cycle, you only had access to a partial amount data of the new plan. You would have to wait until the new billing cycle for the new data amount. More here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/proration
As you mentioned, you only had 4GB of 30GB, I guess you just changed your plan 4 days ago?
It was around 4 or 5 days ago that I changed the plan. It just seems wrong that I had barely touched my previous 15GB of data and then was reduced to only 4GB, right at a time that I needed it the most. I get the pro-rate logic, but it’s wrong and unfair if there would have normally been more than enough data left from the original plan to cover the usage. It’s in the disadvantage of the customer and in advantage of Koodo.

But if you didn't use 15GB, why would you change your plan to 30Gb though? If I recalled correctly there was also a warning about data prorating when you changed the plan.
Anyway, as the new billing cycle should start tomorrow or the day after, I recommend you wait until then.
I changed the plan as soon as I was aware of it being an option. Why not get more data (and some other features) for the same rate I was already paying. At the same time I wasn’t specifically planning on using or even needing the data the way I did now. But by coincidence I did end up needing it, and Koodo failed, unless I shelved out even more $$ because of some ridiculous timing. When I look at my data history - which is low to almost nothing - I really don’t believe the extra charge is fair in any measure, considering how much I am already paying for all my services. I don’t care if it is within Koodo’s rights, I still believe it to be unfair and because of that, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
You are no different from the rest of us clients when we change a plan mid-cycle. I changed mine a few months ago mid-cycle and there was a warning about proration, which means I did not have access to the full amount until my next billing cycle. Just because your situation changed from not planning on using the data to using it, I am not sure why you feel Koodo is at fault. You were warned when you changed your plan and agreed to the terms. Good luck with your new cell provider.
It is the backward logic in the pro-ration I don’t agree with. It’s like the speed limit increases from 100 to 120 but now you have to drive no more than 80 for the first mile unless you are willing to pay the ticket. It is irrelevant to me if there are rules that allow it or if there are other people who think this is fine. I’m not looking for special treatment but that does not mean I won’t speak up if I see this sort of nonsense, either.
It used to be Koodo didn't prorate, though they'd say it was supposed to be but the system didn't. I don't like it either how it's done. If you do end up going to another carrier, I'd confirm if they prorate data as well or not.Dor example, Fido will prorate except if you change from one type of plan to the same type of plan. It may or may not be different for other options.
