data usage is wrong

I just switched my plan to $50 which has 12g of data. It shows I only have 4???

When you switch your plan data and minutes are prorated based on how much time remains in your billing cycle. It will reset to the full amount for the next month.

For example, if you switch mid cycle, you only get half the date out of the 12GB. 

Go and check your data usage  reports, you will see some manipulated  numbers like 100 M, 200M, 300 M.
