Can/Will Koodo lead the way in extending 'Unlimited Evenings and Weekends' to include Provincial/Federal/Statutory holidays?

How about extending 'Unlimited Evenings and Weekends' to include Provincial/Federal/Statutory holidays? I'm not misunderstanding what a weekend is, nor am I asking if a public holiday is already included - I have read my small print!!! I am sharing the idea that the 'Unlimited Evenings and Weekends' which is great for actually organising social events - could be extended on for what is it - 8 days a year? ... to include the actual holiday which so many fun/social events occur on??

Nice idea for those who need it, but unlikely to happen.

Federal holidays would make sense, but I feel like provincial holidays would be a nightmare since every province has different days for different holidays.

Not to mention that there are only 4 stat holidays which fall on the same date every year. The others would all need to be manualy programmed every year. Free evenings and weekends are handled automatically by the billing system, and the more often you change that software the greater the chance that something goes haywire.
I'm sure with technology now Koodo could figure out something. I mean holidays like Christmas even though they change from year to year are not randomly picked from a hat. This year it's on a Friday next year it's on a Sunday (leap year ) and in 2017 it lands on a Monday. I'm pretty sure this will give Koodo plenty of time to figure things out. Merry Christmas

Ironically, Christmas is one of the only 4 that DOES NOT change from year to year, as it is always on the 25 of December. Good friday, on the other hand, occurs on the Friday before the first Sunday following the first full moon following the vernal equinox. Not pulled out of a hat, but not nearly so simple to program into an automated computer program.

How about Regatta Day in Newfoundland? First Wednesday in August, but only if the weather is suitable, as decided by the committee in the early morning hours of the day. It is serially postponed until the weather is suitable. Program THAT into your automated computer program.

So just do Christmas. I'm pretty sure most people would appreciate the effort. What's so great about unlimited calling on boxing day? I already have unlimited evenings and weekends. It's not even a statutory holiday. It's just like every other weekend.

I was kind of surprised to see that Christmas day and New Year's day weren't covered under the weekends plan.  I just assumed.  It wouldn't be that hard.  They could just put in these two days and forget about regatta day.  But, they probably won't and who can blame them.

voip.ms is giving 4 hours of calling to it's customers to 4 numbers over the next 3 days.

Actually, this year koodo will allow you to call as much as you like on boxing day, as long as your plan includes unlimited weekends.

That cool 🙂  First I'm hearing it, though.  Where does it say this?

On the calendar, where it says boxing day is on a Saturday this year.

All the submissions about how this idea couldn't work seem to ignore A: the skill of programmers B: Auto-updates of existing data.... if 100's of 1000's of flight arrival and departure times can be determined every day and take into account the international time zones those flights pass through, if that same process can account for observations of summer savings times - even where in some locations it is observed and others not - then programming such occurrences as statutory holidays becomes a no-brainer, it's really only a question of willingness rather than capability and for non-statutory holidays aka the holiday mentioned that is weather dependent then even that could pre-programmed and activated for the remainder of the day. Thanks for all the observations, still not seeing a definitive 'why not' response yet - which granted would need to come from Koodo and who knows if anyone at Koodo ever reads these posts anyway!
