Can I get a cell phone under age?

I am 16 years old, I have my own job and I have saved up for a new phone. My parents do not want me to upgrade on the plan under their name, they want me to create a new plan that I pay for. Is there anything I can do to get a cell phone under my name, or even there name, without them being there? I mean, is there anything they can sign that I can bring in? I know the age of getting a phone in my province is 19, so I was just wondering if there were any other options for me.

You cannot get a monthly service until you are the age of majority in your province. You still look into prepaid services,if you wish.
