Solved

Been with Koodo for 7 years and I have nothing to show for it.

I called, threatening to leave for Wind, and they just told me "sorry, we can't compete with their plans". Oh really? It's funny how you can give Sask and Manitoba customers 4.4 gigs of more data than I do for $10 more than the price I pay.

Prices go up and up and up, and my wallet gets lighter and lighter and lighter. The fact that you refuse to give me a loyalty deal is frankly insulting to me after I've been a customer for so long.

If I didn't live in the country I'd be throwing my money at Wind right about now.

I think the carriers have Saskatchewan listed as part of the European Union, thus the lower rates.
On the other hand, Ontario prices maybe subsidizing Saskatchewan, price wars. I mean how else can you stay in business, by competing?
People will remember your frustration and their frustrations about this issue, when competition arrives. All we have to do, is hurry up and wait.

Check out Quebec pricing if you really want to see low rates, with free long distance on most plans a person could sign up with a Quebec plan if you get a position box there and use your phone any where in Canada at no extra charge

When you started with koodo you paid some of the lowest rates for mobile in Canada

They also probably subsidized one or two devices for you along the way.

You never had to change plans unless you wanted to. AAMOF there are still People on original plans like "serving size 15"

We all want more for our money and I get that, but even by your own admission, Wind Doesn't serve your area, so they are hardly competition for your business at the moment..

Also to keep things fair, why should they give you an awesome plan and keep everyone else from getting it. That's not right fair either.
You have choices and you can (and should) certainly use your wallet to voice your opinion. I wish you luck finding a better provider with lower rates.

Koodo doesn't have loyalty plans to give you!
Companies like bell and rogers do, but that's because they have wiggle room on their rip-off prices.
I used to work for bell an example of a bell loyalty plan is you get unlimited calling to your "fab 10" and half a gig of data for $60
Which is alright when you consider half a gig of data costs $80 with them.

But Koodo already has the lowest rates of all major canadian providers, amazing customer service. Killer network. If you want to jump ship to wind or some other cheap brand you're going to find out quickly why the prices of those companies is so low.

Virgin and fido are the same price , all three are working together koodo was better with the tab but got rid of it. I think Canada has to open up the market and let some competition in.

Threatening doesn't give you any discount with Koodo. I guess it's good because only complainers get a deal if they allowed to this happen.

Loyalty is not the reason for Sask and Manitoba plan price. It's because they(MB/SK) have local companies and Koodo need to compete.

You are always free to compare your service carriers and if you find a better company you can move on.

I think it more about frustration than threatening. People look around and think the Americans have it better than us. You watch the news and see people walking and talking on cell phones, in countries classified as "third world" where wages is like, $1,000 per year. And then you look at Saskatchewan and Quebec and say to yourself WTF!

I would say Koodo service is better than Wind.
I see now koodo started offering better plans e.g. $30 you get 350 minutes good for light user.
I believe this holiday season Koodo will also include 1GB of data free to all loyality users, thats what I hear from mobile master

So what's the definition of "loyal users" and when may I expect to have another gig added to existing 6gigs ?

Why not? Would it not cost less than all the 25% discounts handed out?

Well, you asked "what's the definition of "loyal users""
Where do you draw the line?

I'm with you on this, I doubt very much it will happen.

I just switched to Koodo after a life time of service with Bell Mobility...If you think Koodo's retention pricing is bad... retention pricing at Bell is horrid and between my wife's contract and mine we've cut about $75.00 a month in mobile costs and have more than reasonable feature packages from Koodo...I feel your pain about "loyalty" pricing..but it could be far worse. After quite a lot of research Koodo was the best option for what we were looking for. From what I know about Wind...you'll be happy that they don't service your area.Nice for you if the extra gig comes your way at Christmas...

Good reading and you hit all the points, spot on. Your not happy with Bell and here you are with Koodo. If someone not happy with Koodo, they'll move elsewhere. We never loss the inner kid, because we all like something for nothing. It's a great surprise when you get it. But when you feel entitled to it, you set yourself up for some nasty dis-appointment.

It's hard to find exceptional Carriers with all the trimmings and stuffings, BUT Wind is NOT one of them. Rogers is like Gordon Ramsay, Bell is certainly not too bad, but they like to take us for a ride. Who's left?
