10GB is great, but have they changed HOW that is accumulated. For example only, if 5 minutes on google maps was 1MB, is it now 2MB?

Explanation of 10GB plan

You can't do a comparison of 5min on an app as the way you use the app will use more or less data. The difference between 1 and 2MB is so little as well that it could be considered negligible.

Nothing was changed Dennis. Guaranteed. :-)
Thanks Bernard!

Well how fast were you travelling in each scenario? Where you using a different view in maps such as traffic or satellite? There are a bunch factors on how much data you use with anything even maps.

10GBs is 10GBs. No matter how you look at it. Only difference would be if the map you're looking at is larger, Google maps updated and now things use more data... Same example with email; a 167kb email before you changed plans is still a 167kb email. Cheers!
lol, thanks all, but most missed the point. Forget about the specific user action, if the standard plans double or triple, the first question we should ask is if the consumption values also double or triple. I think everything stays the same, which is great!!!

That's fundamentally not how it works, so that might be why people "missed the point." A data packet does not magically change in size because your data allotment has changed. All Koodo could possibly do is change how they measure data used. And that would be fraud.

In addition to what Goran said, it would actually NOT be in the provider's interest to increase the data consumption - even though data is cheap, it's not free. I would imagine that the providers gambled on the majority of users only using a fraction of the 10GB - that way they'll still make a (large) profit even on this amount of data offered.
