Will Xiaomi MI A1 Global Edition work well on Koodo network?

I'm considering buying a Xiaomi MI A1 Global Edition. I'm concerned because only some of the Koodo bands match the bands on the phone. I live in Southwestern Ontario and I would be very unhappy if I got spotty service, or if I wasn't able to get LTE service where I do with my current phone.
This is a list of the bands the phone is capable of:
GSM / HSPA / LTE
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 — SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)
Speed HSPA, LTE
GPRS Yes

Will this thing work well throughout Koodo's network without glitches? Or will I get wonky or subpar service and regret this purchase?

3G is good for talk text and data use

LTE is good for the new B7, but Koodo mainly uses B4 (1700/2100) for LTE currently so your LTE speeds may be lacking depending on your area
Thanks Dennis, sounds like I may be sorry if I go with this phone.

Xiaomi is a great brand.  But lacking LTE will make some data use slower (streaming, etc)

Hi, I bought Hong Kong version of this phone a few months ago from Gearbest. This phone is fantastic! I live in Quebec city and so car I have been on Koodo 4G Network almost 100% of the time. I tested the connection a few times with Opensignal app. Results : Download is always over 30Mbps and upload is always over 5Mbps.

I am in China so the only version I can get ahold of (quickly anyway...my LG phone just died) is the Chinese version.  The bands listed all overlap with the Global version, it's just missing band 20 (original poster didn't list this one, but it is listed in online specs).  Should I expect the same coverage with a Chinese version of this phone when I return to Canada and Koodo service as the Global version?

Band 4 isnt listed so LTE will be lacking with Koodo.

2600 mhz is widely available for LTE. Coverage isn't as extensive but it's there.

Thank you for your replies.  I'm not a big data user...I actually leave it turned off and use only wifi.  If I'm having a "no wifi emergency", I turn my data on. Briefly. :)  Talk, text and wifi are mostly all I need in a phone when living in Canada. 3G should be okay, with 4G as a bonus if available...?

Then you are fine. For 3G all that's needed is 850 and 1900 which that phone has both of.
