Verifying Number since Monday

I got an new Iphone XR for my son.  The number is still verifying in Imessage and I cant add it to the reachable at...it says the number is in use with another account.  I have tried everything I could find on how to fix this issue and I cant get it to work  He cant send texts...HELP!!

I recommend that you deregister his number from iMessage through this website (follow the "no longer have phone" option) and then try to register it through the iPhone again:

Still working on it … I can at least send texts now...
