I have a Samsung galaxy s3. I just have a basic plan with no data. I was intersested in getting the newest Samsung so that I can have the capability to FaceTime with my grand-daughter. Am I eligible for this and how would I go about it?

Doesn't your S3 have a front facing camera? You should be able to video chat with her using your current device. What chat software are they using? You could videochat over Skype, or BBM, and imnsure there are apps I'm missong that will do this for you.
Thanks, They say you have to have 10 clicks to have a clue. I'm working on about 2 or 3 clicks when it comes to my phone. I know that I have a camera on the phone but don't know about front facing? I believe that they are using Facetime, not sure. Do I need to have a data plan for this?

If you have access to WiFi, then no data plan is required. For this type of chat, it's generally better to be indoors anyway with the camera propped up on a stand.

If your other party is using facetime, that is an apple product and you'd need to also be using an apple product to use facetime.

Tell your family you'd rather use Skype, it's available for any device.

Tell them you don't have an iPhone

"If your near a computer you can Skype from your computer. We do this with our Grandchildren.go to Skype.com and download for your computer." Depending on the computer, you might also need to buy a USB camera and a microphone. Many laptops have cameras, microphones and speakers built in, but desktops usually don't. If other members of your family are using Apple devices, you may wish to consider buying one as well, as they will be better able to help you set yours up, as they have familiarity with theirs.
