Telemarketers

Does anyone know if there is any possible way to block telemarketers from calling? This one has been driving me crazy! I have used the Canadian government one to block them from calling my number. It is apparently Scotia Bank ( Who I don't even deal with) Thanks 🙂

Hi there... You can use the National Do Not Call list... Here's the link: https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/index-eng

I don't recommend registering your number to this. There is a loophole in the law and I almost gaurantee more telemarketing calls after you register

Like Ahmad said, I read on a consumer protection report that some telemarketers are checking if your number is on the list and if it is, they send your number to telecoms in India and then you start getting calls about won trips and Amex crap...
Depending on your device, there may be an app or a setting to block a specific number. Problem is, they always seem to call from different numbers. So this may not be useful. But, in my case, it was always 3 specific numbers that call at an annoying level.

You could try quesarito's method http://community.koodomobile.com/koodo/topics/block_harassing_number

Oddly answering and asking them not to call you anymore "sometimes" does the trick. My fax line was called everyday for months at the same time of day. A couple of weeks ago I made a point to answer it (they were doing a survey) and I asked them to take me off their list and haven't gotten a call from them since.
Sure there is. I found this call blocker app by Callercenter.com that automatically filters all my incoming calls. You should get it, too. It's free and truly efficient.

You should report nuisance callers, too. File a complaint online through the FTC website, so that they get investigated and penalized.
